How do I prepare for a photo session?
​
Think about what kind of photos you are looking for. Are in interested in lifestyle photos that show interaction, or the classic facing forward and looking at the camera? We'll spend time chatting before your session and I'll ask questions about your expectations, and learn a little bit about you. Do you want to include creative props, like hats, sports jackets or a family quilt? We have portrait guides available with detailed information like what to wear, how to pose and what to expect during a photo session that I can email to you if you are interested. Each client is different, and I enjoy helping to create your unique portraits!

What about the location?
​
You can choose a location that helps tell the story about who you are! You could pick a place that has special meaning for you. Perhaps a family farm, a local park, or someplace where you participate in an activity. The location is an important choice and should go along with your personal style. Do you want to be photographed in an edgy urban setting, or in a grass field with soft light? If you don't have a specific location in mind, I have a few favorites!

How do I book a session?
​
You can contact us by using the contact form, sending an email to JannDenlingerPhotography@gmail.com, or call/text 717.842.0871. Let me know if you have any specific date or time of year in mind and I'll check our calendar. You can send information about a location you're thinking of, or ideas for what you might like. Once we have all the details figured out, I will send you some paperwork to look over. When I receive the signed paperwork along with a $50.00 booking fee, you will be officially booked!

How do I get my photos?
Your photos will be professionally edited and presented in an online gallery where you can download files or get prints and canvases mailed directly to you. It usually takes me about a week or two to edit your photos and create your online gallery. I don't put a limit on the number of photos, but post all that I think turned out well. You can order professional-quality prints, canvases, and albums at reasonable prices directly from your gallery. Announcements, invitations and thank-you cards can also be ordered. I am available to meet with you after your session to help make decisions or navigate the ordering process. You can also order everything yourself, and just contact me if you have any questions.

I love the beauty of Lancaster County, and have lived here all of my life.
I've been snapping photos for a very long time. Back in the days of film, I was busy learning about composition, backgrounds and lighting while photographing my children. Then I went digital and spent many years taking photos of teenagers in our youth group as I learned about aperture and shutter speed to get those action shots. After years of taking photos for family and friends (and getting paid with chocolate chip cookies), I decided to start my own business. I learned how to use lightroom and photoshop, and also took some professional photography classes. I've finally found a job that I really enjoy, and have been a small business owner for many years!
