         Getting A Glimpse Into Creating Your Senior Portraits

 

 

1. The Initial Connection:

            Understanding Your Vision 

 

Our journey begins with getting to know each other, and most importantly understanding your vision. Don’t hesitate to share thoughts, concerns, or ideas you have for your Senior Portraits! 

 

• Your goals for the photo session – Are your photos for personal memories, school yearbook, sharing on social media, or something else? Are you interested in prints, canvases, digital files, an album or a combination? 

            

• Your style and preferences – Are you looking for something with and urban look or an open airy feeling? Do you want your photos to appear formal or more relaxed? Are you interested in photos that show interaction, or looking at the camera and smiling? 

 

• Is there a theme, or do you want to include props – Are there any specific clothing colors, or perhaps a sports team theme? Is there a family blanket you would like to include, or maybe grandma’s earrings? Are there any fun hats, musical instruments or other accessories you want to add? 

 

 

 

2. Planning and Preparation:

            Communication Is The Focus

 

We will be communicating with each other to help things run smoothly on the day of your photo session. How much time will we need to create your vision? How many outfits do you want to include in your Senior Portrait Session? 

 

• Logistics – We’ll discuss location options and potential dates and times.

 

• Which session is best for you? – We have Basic, Classic and Deluxe Sessions.  These choices include different session lengths at different prices. Your Investment - Pricing

 

• Booking and Paperwork – Once you have decided on which session you would like and a date, I’ll send you some paperwork to look over and return with a $50.00 booking fee.  Then you will be officially booked! 

            

 

 

3. The Photo Session:

            Your Time In Front Of The Camera

 

During the photo session, my focus will be on creating a relaxed, comfortable and fun atmosphere.  I have years of experience, and can give you gentle guidance for posing to help you look your best in your Senior Portraits. 

 

• Lighting – It is all about the light! I will be looking for areas with full shade or full sun.  Dappled shade can create sunny spots on clothing and faces. I may ask you to move forward or back because I am trying to get the light to hit your hair in just the right way! 

 

• Attention to detail – I’ll be paying attention to many different details.  My goal is to help you look your best. I may ask you to move a stray hair, or fix the way your shirt is hanging.

 

• Questions – I am a chatty kind of gal.  I may ask you questions about many different topics.  My goal is to help you have a variety of expressions on your face in your portraits. Many years of experience have taught me the best way to do that is to ask a lot of questions! 

 

 

 

4. Delivery and Beyond:

            Receiving your images

Once the session is finished, I spend many hours editing your photos using professional editing tools to create your finished Senior Portraits. 

 

• Online Gallery – It usually takes me a week or two to edit and create your Online Gallery.  You can share the link to your gallery with friends and family who might enjoy seeing the photos, or ordering their own photos.

 

• Products – I offer high-resolution digital files, as well as heirloom quality prints, canvases and albums from a professional printing service. The digital files are not included in all the session choices, and can be ordered individually. There are other products available like announcement cards, thank-you cards, and keepsakes. 

 

• Continued Support – I will be available to help you thru the ordering process. My hope is that you have an enjoyable experience that will leave you with great memories, along with heirloom quality photos that you will cherish for a lifetime.
